Whats up! Im James Nunez and i currently model out of New York City. I originally started working when i shot some t-shirts for a local artist in my neighborhood (Washington heights). Social media soon picked up and i saw myself traveling back and forth booking shoots left and right. Anyone can say that they model and take some pro photos but it takes experience and a well rounded portfolio to understand the dedication it takes. NYC is a great place to live for this line of work but it can also be very competitive. I am not phased however, i consider myself an asset more than an option. My goal is to become a signed model with a major agency, currently i am independent, finding work through casting networks, friends and even social media! It can be tough finding work too, its even tougher not getting paid for your work, having to screen out valid photographers (you shouldn't shoot with everyone) and the industry sharks looking to make money or something else, from you. Aside from the negatives, there are amazing benefits to being a model. You get to network with individuals who are where you want to be, travel is always a plus, you're around aesthetically pleasing people, often. It also pays significantly well. After some time you become well known to many people and a certain level of stardom is obtained. If you are smart you understand that some things take time and others don't. As for me I'm building my portfolio selectively in aims of becoming a signed model within the next year. Thank you for including me, much love! - James Nunez
