Hi my name is Tiffany Roni, I am 18 years old and for the past two to three years I've been building my career as a photographer and also styling on the side. Since I was 4, I've been introduce to the visual culture. My uncle is a sculpture and painter himself, so he taught me the basics of fine art. Falling in love with just the arts, I explored the different media and picked up my first camera when I was thirteen. I always knew I wanted to do photography after experimenting the possibilities that I had with the lens. I then got accepted to LaGuardia Highschool as an art major. But that isn't really where I got my inspiration from. Being a traditional chinese and vietnamese family, my parents were not happy that I was being expose to the kind of environment I was in during that time. They did not believe in the fact that art itself can provide a living. My father wanted me to become a typical lawyer, and I had no interest. Even though I did not have my parents approval, it did not stop me. One of my biggest fears is that when I get older I would be stuck with a 9-5 job, sitting in a boring office and doing paper work. I REFUSE to let that happen. Everyone always talk about the grind, but never actually know how to grind. I enrolled into one of the best designs school in NYC too, The New School , as a photography major. Photography opened many other doors for me, and throughout the journey so far, I met some amazing and talented people. Right now I am actually doing a project with a few of my colleagues call New Scope. New Scope is a live interview series that is happening in September 2015, produced by two excutives, Nasir E. (the host) and Justin Miller. Be on the look out for that, and when you see the name, we hope to inspire the many young creator around us. As an 18 year old, there is nothing else to focus on but building my future and chasing my dreams hard. And with all the opportunities, I am truly blessed.
