H&M teamed up with the fashion designer Alexander Wang to create one of the most chic collabs yet. People either loved or hated this collection. Some said that the collection was either too basic or they loved it and was one of the best collabs H&M ever did. I personally thought the collection lacked that Wang that we all know. I expected more out of the collection but then again I have to remember that it is only H&M. I felt that he could of did without plastering his name all over almost every piece of clothing he did for this collab. But to each it's own. Earlier today I asked some of my instagram followers what they thought of the collection. Here are some of their opinions:
"The whole WANG logo thing just literally on every inch of fabric reminds me of like Aero or Hollister. I think that advertisting the logo and stuff that way is tacky looking. I honestly think the hype was because of the brand. The clothing wasn't that exciting for me, I had a lot of expectations and they were not met. There was only one thing I'd wear from that collection."
"A few pieces were nice but some not so much. Looks had too much of a runway appearance for regular H&M shoppers. Most likely they'll be wearing those outfits to wack a** kickbacks in their backyards. Appreciate that Wang is trying to appeal to the less fortunate so that they can own Wang pieces, but the outcome is probably what he hasn't expected."
"The idea of H&M being a retail organization of high fashion and quality making a collaboration with one of the most considerably ultimate fashion designer, that is Alexander Wang himself, is a success in its form. But obviously the more it's overrated the less it is recognized as a success but just another common type of trend."
In Wang's defense though he said, "It's made to look chic but also workable for the gym." Which is the reason why for his fabric choices and the fitting of most of his garments.
